Drake Scores 10th Week At #1

DrakeDrake has returned to #1 on both the Nielsen and BuzzAngle Music charts with "Views," which sold another 92,000 equivalent album units, including 58,000 streaming equivalent albums, this week. It’s the album’s 10th non-consecutive week in the top spot.

"Views" only the 10th record in the last 20 years to reach 10 weeks at #1, joining Adele, Taylor Swift, Backstreet Boys, Santana, Alanis Morrissette and both the Titanic and Frozen soundtracks.

image from www.telcion.com"Drake wasn't the only Hip-Hop artist to make a splash on the charts this week," commented Music Biz President James Donio, "as ScHoolboy Q landed his second Top 10 album with Blank Face LP at #2.

"Rock also fared well, with Chevelle’s The North Corridor debuting in the Top 10 of both the Billboard 200 and BuzzAngle Music chart, while Switchfoot’s Where the Light Shines Through hit #10 on the Billboard chart." he continued.  "Next week, we’ll see whether Drake can hold on to #1 in the face of stiff competition from Needtobreathe, the Kidz Bop 32 compilation, and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s solo album We’re All Somebody from Somewhere.”

I'm betting on Drake.

  1. Bruce,
The correct spelling from the sentence “Now, trade groups and labels are banning together to overturn the ruling,” should be “banding” together.
