Pandora Rebrands $4.99 Service As Pandora Plus, Adds Offline Listening Alongside New Features For Free Tier

Pandora has rebranded its $4.99 per month ad free service Pandora One as Pandora Plus and added new features.

For $4.99 per month, users now get more skips, replays and "predictive" offline listening that also solves issues with lost connectivity and cellular data usage.  "Our new predictive offline mode automatically detects when you lose signal and switches to one of your top stations that Pandora knows you love," says Chris Phillips, chief product officer at Pandora. "No effort required. It just keeps playing.”

Users of Pandora's free ad supported service can skip more songs and replay a song by opting into a video ad. (Examples here.)

Pandora Plus, as well as the new features available on the ad-supported tier, will launch today and roll out to listeners in the coming months on iOS and Android smartphones. E For listeners in Australia and New Zealand, the new Pandora Plus and ad-supported features will be available in 2017.
