NOW Music Universal Music Group and Sony Entertainment have team to launch a low cost streaming music service. For now, its only available in the UK, but "this may change in the near future," according to their site.

Now That's What I Call Music+ offers streaming playlists of hits songs at a budget price: £4.99 ($6.50) per month direct from  NOW Music+ and £5.99 ($7.90) via Apple's iTunes.  That compares to £9.99 ($13.00) per month for Spotify or Apple Music.

A Risky Move For The Labels

Its a somewhat risky move for the top two music groups, who may feel safe because of their size and resulting clout.  But content suppliers getting into the supply chain business and competing with their own vendors stifles both competition and innovation.
