The Hot Buttered Rum String Band is heading back on tour...this time in style! The California-based band that promises to deliver a "High Altitude Acoustic Experience" to every audience, has traveled more than 50,000 on their "Bio Bus" which helped raise awareness about the use of alternative fuel. The "Bio Bus" was originally acquired from students at Middlebury College in Vermont and was modified to run on vegetable oil.
This summer, the band is taking the concept of touring on a veggie-oil bus to the next level and will be heading out to summer festivals on the newest addition to the Hot Buttered Rum family - a 40 foot diesel coach. With the help of Ryan Grace, founder of Real Energy , the coach's conversion to veggie-oil was recently finished the band has embarked on a six week tour.
Be sure to say hi to the band and get a glimpse of the new bus when they make stops at some great festivals this summer like the Big Wu Family Reunion, Appalachia Uprising, June Plum Festival, Wakarusa Music Festival and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival! The festival tour closes at the High Sierra Music Festival in California -- check out HBR's website for more info.
