 Chinese music video app Tik Tok has far surpassed the competition with more than 45.8 million downloads over the last three months.Known as Douyin in China, Tik Tok is a music video and social messaging app. Users can shoot and edit short clips, then add music and special effects to them. Tik Tok is owned by the same company that [acquired social music video app Musical.ly](https://www.hypebot.com/musically-just-sold-for-800m-but-its-already-peaked-because-if-being-too-silicon-valley-says-mark-mu/) for between $800 million and $1 billion last year.
