Adele’s ’25’ Sets More Records, Selling 1.2 Million In Week 2

adele 25Adele's "25 roll continues.  She retains the #1 spot on the Billboard Nielsen Music chart for the second week in a row with 1.16 million equivalent album units in the US. Of that, 1.11 million were pure album sales.

image from www.hypebot.comAdele’s 25 keeps breaking records and has now 1.1 million U.S. album sales in its second week of release, making it the only album in Nielsen SoundScan history (since 1991) to sell at least one million copies in two separate weeks.

25 became just the 20th album to sell at least a million copies in a single week (in Nielsen history) when it arrived with 3.38 million sold in the week ending Nov. 26. Until this week, no album had ever sold a million copies in more than one week.

The album's sales comprised 41% of all U.S. album sales this week; 37.7% of all CD Album sales and 47.9% of all Digital Album sales.

In Canada, the album has notched up 306,000 album sales, and 61,000 digital songs, and 944,000 on-demand streams.
