PM Update: Rdio Grabs Telus Exclusive, VibeDeck + Soundcloud, Palmese Exits RCA
Rdio has been named the sole provider of music subscription services to more than seven million wireless customers who use TELUS, a top tier carrier in Canada.
- VibeDeck has integrated with SoundCloud allowing musicians to sell (or giveaway in exchange for an email address) 320 KPS audio direct-to-fan and keep 100% with payment via PayPal
- RCA EVP/Promotion Richard Palmese is leaving and moving to LA. Sources have Palmese joining Irving Azoff's management team.

I understand that there is a tremendous amount of industry respect for Richard Palmese, and I’m not singling him out with this, but I can’t wrap my head around something:
These old-school heads of radio promo, who have probably not called an actual radio station to work a record in a decade, are paid around one million dollars per year by labels (and now management companies), to basically quarterback projects.
All these guys do for artists is hire other indies to work records. My grandmother can do that.
Sound Cloud is definitely the wave of the future. Jump on board.
