What Business Are You In?
Are you in the entertainment business or the music business?
Some of us are in the entertainment business.
(Interscope, Madonna).
Some of us are in the music business.
(Rick Rubin, Asthmatic Kitty).
One is not inherently "better" than the other. But it's important to consider which business you want to be in. Your answer will determine which path you want to take and where to put your resources.

Yes, this is just an asinine comparison you’re trying to draw here.
By the way, Touch and Go (and the labels that relied on it for distribution) is still screwed. But I guess they were an “entertainment” company, right?

I’m in the music business, yet I’ve always been attracted to aspects of the entertainment business.
Aren’t they linked? Yes, the more art the less business and vice versa, but Madge is a great business woman, not a starving artist. It’s like O2 and CO2 – you can’t survive without either…
