Spotify Reports Q4 Financial This Week: What To Expect

Spotify Technology will post its fourth-quarter 2019 financial results this Wednesday, February 5th before the market opens. Here’s what to expect:

New Stats

Here are the latest public numbers that Spotify is working to beat:

  • 248 million Monthly Active Users
  • 113 million Premium Subscribers
  • a presence in 79 countries and territories
  • 50 million tracks

More Income From (Not For) Artists, Labels

CEO Daniel Ek signaled a strong interest in making more money from artists and labels as part of a “two-tiered marketplace” strategy during the last two earnings calls.

Don’t expect the streamer to put Spotify For Artists behind a paywall. But we may see the announcement of other paid services like Marquee, the “pay per click” ad placement that allows artists and labels to announce new releases to both free and paid subscribers which Spotify launched late last year.

Surprise, Surprise Surprise

Spotify has an impressive earnings surprise history. It has surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in three of the last four quarters, delivering a positive surprise 84.5% of the time, on average.

Spotify will also hold a question and answer session to discuss fourth quarter 2019 financial results with a live webcast available at investors.spotify.com.

Podcast, Podcasts, Podcasts

The streamer has put increasing emphasis on podcasts with impressive results. Expect to hear more stellar podcats stats and predictions.
