QUICK HITS: Amazon Music debuts in-car 360 audio at CES • De La Soul to (finally) stream • Chordify

Amazon Music and Fraunhofer. a primary developer of the MPEG-H 3D Audio standard, are showing off the first in-car 360 Reality Audio music at CES.

During live demos in an Audi e-tron that’s equipped with a production 3D sound system, CES visitors can for the first time experience Amazon Music’s 360 Reality Audio immersive service streamed to an automotive environment.

De La Soul to (finally) stream

In 2021, music publisher Reservoir secured De La Soul’s back catalog as part of its acquisition of the legendary indie hip-hop label Tommy Boy.

Now De La Soul’s first six albums, 3 Feet High and Rising (1989), De La Soul Is Dead (1991), Buhloone Mindstate (1993), Stakes Is High (1996), Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump (2000), and AOI: Bionix (2001), will finally be available on streaming starting on March 3rd, the 34th anniversary of the release of their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising.

Their hit single “The Magic Number” will hit services on January 13. Exclusive merch, vinyl, CDs, and cassettes, distributed by Chrysalis Records, including additional albums from their discography later in 2023. Pre-orders are available now on wearedelasoul.com.
