How the Spotify Upcoming Releases hub works

The Spotify Upcoming Releases hub is located under the Search tab on the mobile app. There fans will see personalized upcoming release recommendations based on listening history. There is also a top 10 global Countdowns based on the number of pre-saves.

Fans can pre-save multiple upcoming releases directly from the hub and jump into Countdown Pages to preview the tracklists, stream released singles, watch Clips, find merch, and follow the countdown. On release day, Spotify will send a push notification fans who’ve pre-saved, automatically adding the music to their library.

“The Upcoming Releases hub is about celebrating what’s next in music, and Countdown Charts bring a whole new level of visibility to releases that fans are most excited about,” said Madeleine Bennett, Senior Director, Head of Global Music Go-to-Market at Spotify. “By ranking the top pre-saved releases globally, we’re giving artists a powerful new way to build anticipation and connect with their biggest fans in the lead-up to release day.”

Countdown Charts come to Spotify socials

In addition to the Upcoming Releases hub, the streamer is sharing the new Countdown Charts on its social channels. Every Wednesday, they will post an updated list of the top 10 Countdown Pages with the most total pre-saves globally.

This week’s top pre-saves include:

  1. Lorde – Virgin
  2. Miley Cyrus – Something Beautiful
  3. Benson Boone — American Heart
  4. MARINA – PRINCESS OF POWER
  5. Green Day – Saviors (édition de luxe)
  6. Laufey – A Matter of Time
  7. SEVENTEEN – SEVENTEEN 5th Album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’
  8. Ed Sheeran – Play
  9. Addison Rae – Addison
  10. Morat – Ya Es Mañana

Eligible Artists

All artists with at least 5,000 active listeners in the last 28 days can create a Countdown Page for an upcoming album or EP. They then are eligible for the upcoming releases hub and charts.
