In the latest live music industry news UK fans, venues and artists are gutted (not) over StubHub‘s threat to leave the UK if a proposed price cap on resale tickets becomes law.
The UK government has been considering a cap on resale tickets as part of a crack down on scalpers.
StubHub International chief executive chief executive Bob Kupbens told the Financial Times that “even at 30%, we feel very strongly that would make it very challenging for us to operate” in the UK.

• Live Music Society, the nonprofit organization that has distributed $4.8 million in funding to small venues across the United States since 2020 will have a strong presences at NIVA ‘25 Conference in Milwaukee next week.
A panel on June 24 will explore LMS’s first-of-its-kind One Night Live touring initiative. On June 25 Live Music Society will host a Happy Hour followed by live music at Cactus Club (a Live Music Society grant recipient), as well as a VIP brunch for invited small venue owners and operators in their growing LMS network.

• VENU Holding Corporation has broken ground on Sunset Amphitheater powered by EIGHT Elite Light Beer in McKinney, Texas.
The 20,000-capacity amphitheater will feature flexible configurations, a canopied roof and wind-walls for year-round performances. The amphitheater is expected to open its doors in the third quarter of 2026.
• Concert Stuff Group, a live event production and creative media services company, has acquired 7 Cinematics, an Emmy Award-winning company specializing in live concert broadcasting and cinematic production.
7 Cinematics live concert broadcasts have featured Tyler Childers, Imagine Dragons, KISS and Dead and Company. With the acquisition, the company can deliver end-to-end production services from staging and logistics to full-scale broadcast and cinematic post-production.
