Tim Drake and Larry Kosson of The Roots Agency have been selected as dual winners of this year's North American Performing Arts Association Award for Excellence as Agent in the Performing Arts. The two were presented with the award this week by Robert Baird, president of NAPAMA, at the Association for Performing Arts Presenters conference (APAP) awards luncheon at the Hilton New York.

The award is given annually to an agent or manager who has demonstrated excellence in the field. Both Drake and Kosson, along with their partner COO Robin Spielberg joined forces this year to form The Roots Agency/SMG Artists Group. The artist roster of the combined agencies includes Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Graham Parker & The Rumour, Sandra Bernhard, Jimmy Webb, Stephanie Mills, The Irish Rovers and Susan Werner.

"This is the highest award an agent can receive in the arts world, so Larry Kosson and I feel at the same time honored, humbled and elated. We're especially grateful to our wonderful staff, our clients, and to all our colleagues at NAPAMA and in the arts presenting community," Tim Drake said during the awards ceremony. – CelebrityAccess
