An integral part of the music industry, tribute bands seem to be only growing in popularity, with countless artists playing thousands of shows a year in masterful recreations of some of music's biggest names, and while these bands' success may not be up for debate, it does beg the question, just how legal are they?

An original band also has the right to preserve its brand from being undermined or devalued by the presence of a tribute act.
