# Billboard Editor Switch: Tony Gervino New Editor-In-Chief, Joe Levy Now Editor-At-Large

Billboard has a new editor-in-chief, Tony Gervino, who brings a rich experience with consumer mags though not so much with music. Joe Levy, who has been editor-in-chief since 2012, is now editor-at-large with a return to writing. In addition, Mike Bruno recently joined Billboard from Entertainment Weekly as VP of digital content.

Late yesterday Billboard [announced](http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6041355/tony-gervino-named-billboard-editor-in-chief?ref=hypebot.com) the appointment of [Tony Gervino](http://www.linkedin.com/pub/tony-gervino/23/598/847?ref=hypebot.com) to editor-in-chief. Gervino leaves a position as executive editor of Hearst Magazines Internationl and contributing writer for The New York Times.

Tony Gervino's primary publishing connection to music prior to Billboard seems to be from the previous decade [when he](http://www.adweek.com/news/press/billboard-names-new-editor-chief-156846?ref=hypebot.com) "helped launch men’s lifestyle title Antenna and hip-hop magazine Scratch while editorial director of Harris Magazines between 2002 and 2007."

However, according to the [announcement](http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6041355/tony-gervino-named-billboard-editor-in-chief?ref=hypebot.com), Janice Min reassuringly states:

"Tony has both the editorial vision and newsroom drive to lead Billboard into its next act…His enthusiasm and knowledge for music and editing, plus a demonstrated track record in the creation of compelling content on both a niche and mass scale make him an excellent choice for Billboard."

Joe Levy's picking up the pen again or whatever he works with:

"Current Billboard editor Joe Levy will assume a new role as editor-at-large, marking a return to writing, while also editing and developing feature reporting, covers and special content for the magazine and website."

Plus [Mike Bruno](http://www.linkedin.com/pub/mike-bruno/4/284/76a?ref=hypebot.com) recently left Entertainment Weekly to join Billboard as VP of digital content.
