It's too early to call it a trend, but former major label act Blink-182 has now exited BMG and inked a deal with Sony Music’s Columbia for their new album.

  
As an indie act,

The pop-punk band scored the first UK No.1 album of their career with the release of their seventh studio album California on BMG. Released in 2016, the album also hit No.1 in the U.S., becoming their first and only other Stateside chart-topper since 2001’s Take Off Your Pants And Jacket.Blink’s upcoming eighth studio album, *Nine,* is scheduled for release on September 20.Prior to going indie with BMG, the band was signed to Universal Music labels including Geffen, Interscope, and MCA among others.*photo: Blink-182\.
