July 4th is Independence Day in America, but worldwide it’s also a celebration of independent music.

Starting in [New Zealand](http://www.independentsday08.com/new-zealand/?ref=hypebot.com) and ending in the [US](http://www.independentsday08.com/us/?ref=hypebot.com), activities include an [auction](http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=independents-day-charity-auction&ref=hypebot.com) of independent music memorabilia via eBay and limited edition [albums](http://www.independentsday08.com/buy-the-album/?ref=hypebot.com) featuring independent talent from all over the globe supported by a retail campaign and series of one-off music shows and retrospectives across TV and radio.
