Clubhouse has passed 2 million users and is in the midst of a new funding round that sources say is based on a $1 billion dollar ‘unicorn’ valuation.

Part chat app, part crowdsourced panel/podcast, and part networking lounge, invitation-only [Clubhouse](https://www.joinclubhouse.com/welcoming-more-voices?ref=hypebot.com) has exploded with 2 million early adopters that include [musicians](https://www.hypebot.com/clubhouse-beat-battles-are-your-beats-safe/) and music industry professionals alongside scientists, athletes, comedians, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, stock traders, non-profit leaders, authors, and more.

[Clubhouse](https://www.hypebot.com/clubhouse-everything-you-need-to-know/) plans to use its new funding to grow the service in part by supporting creators.

Over the next few months, Clubhouse says that it will test creator monetization features like tipping, tickets, and subscriptions as well as launch a Creator Grant Program to support emerging Clubhouse creators.
