There were more poor [earnings reports](https://www.hypebot.com/wmg-quarterly-losses-widen-to-68m/) from the [music industry](https://www.hypebot.com/more-losses-at-live-nation-as-attendance-drops-226/) last week and shutdowns in music tech continued to mount.

But despite all of this bad news, perhaps even because of it, I remain optimistic about the music industry. Why? Because some things are finally starting to change.
