A decade after the once-popular social DJ app **Turntable.fm** first launched, founder Billy Chasen has resurrected it with the help of a $7.5 million raised in a round led by Andreessen Horowitz.

### The plot thickens…

### **Today, a second Turntable launched.**

### **This one is called tt.fm.**

This free all-new platform is spearheaded by one of the other co-founders of the original Turntable, Joseph Perla.

“Original Turntable fans are eager to get back on the dancefloor and have been asking for a product that serves their needs, including live DJ sets, social networking with music fans, music sharing and an online music community,” said Perla. “Our all-new, built entirely from scratch version of Turntable is all about satisfying our fans and filling a gap in the market for music enthusiasts to connect, interact and listen to music together online. Turntable is needed now more than ever.”

For now at least, both services pull music from third-party services like YouTube for Turntable.fm and Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud for tt.ff.
