With 6000 official events and countless unofficial ones, building an app for SXSW has proven an effective calling card that has landed the startup a number of other trade shows and other events.

Still $2 million from your lead customer is quite an impressive endorsement for Eventbase; and its not a bet that SXSW is anxious to make again anytime soon.

“This is the first of its kind. We formed this LLC specifically for Eventbase,” SXSW CTO Scott Wilcox told [TechCrunch](http://techcrunch.com/2014/11/13/sxsw-starts-a-vc-fund-to-give-its-official-app-maker-eventbase-2-million/?ncid=rss&ref=hypebot.com). And although he is decidedly not on the lookout for other investments, “We wouldn’t rule that out.”
