# Eventbrite Grabs $50 Million More For Live Ticket & Marketing Platform

Even as **Live Nation** CEO **Michael Rapino** was [touting synergies](https://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2011/05/news-brief-verizon-sues-fcc-simfy-gets-10m-emi-profits-rise-.html) created by its merger with **Ticketmaster** at this morning's **JP Morgan** conference, investors were signalling that it's far from game over for the event ticketing sector. Ticketing upstart [**Eventbrite**](http://www.eventbrite.com/?ref=hypebot.com) announced today it has secured $**50 million** in a Series E financing round led by **Tiger Global.** This round brings the company's total funding to $79.5 million.

With this capital, Eventbrite says it will to expand and accelerate   **global expansion** and a more aggressive push into even larger-scale live events.

Eventbrite says that **120,000 event organizers** in 150 countries have hosted more than half a million events using it's platform. More than 10 million people have attended an event ticketed by the company, who says its on track to facilitate a $500 million in gross ticket sales this year.
