His addition is a rare shift for closely held and often secretive indie music services provider and fan destination."His passion for music and appreciation of our artist-friendly model make him uniquely suited to help us grow Bandcamp in a thoughtful and sustainable way," Ethan Diamond, co-founder of the direct to fan service wrote on a blog post."Way back in the summer of 2010, I had lunch with Ethan Diamond and Shawn Grunberger, the co-founders of Bandcamp, and we compared notes on a lot of topics (I was CTO at Etsy then)," Dickerson wrote on his own [blog](https://blog.chaddickerson.com/2017/06/09/becoming-an-advisor-to-bandcamp/?ref=hypebot.com)."Over the years, we’ve kept in touch. I just happened to have a lunch set up with Ethan and Josh Kim (Bandcamp COO) the week of the Etsy announcement and it was really fun. They asked me to be an advisor and I couldn’t resist getting involved. "
