Direct gig booking platform [Sidestage](https://www.sidestage.com/?ref=hypebot.com) has expanded from its base in Berlin to add London. This simple interface designed to facilitate finding a band or DJ for a private gig or wedding. At launch, the London site offers 75+ artists ranging from €120 to more than €15,000.

To date the startup has raised $100,000.

Sidestage founder and CEO Schuyler Deerman, an American who moved to Berlin eight years ago, says that unlike US competitor [Gigit](http://gigit.com/?ref=hypebot.com), artists with record deals, agents or managers are not his primary target. "In ten years, we’d love for headliners to say, ‘We started out on Sidestage,’” Deerman told [Silicon Allee](http://news.siliconallee.com/2014/09/02/musician-booking-platform-sidestage-launches-in-london/?ref=hypebot.com).

To avoid direct liability, Sidestage does not contract the engagement, but rather acts only as a payment agent; collecting funds and charging credit card fees plus a small percentage of the transaction.

Siidstage is hoping to attract more artists with A London [meetup](http://www.meetup.com/Sidestage-London-Artists-Meetup-The-Commercial-Tavern?ref=hypebot.com) on September 9th or you can sign up now on the [site](https://www.sidestage.com/?ref=hypebot.com).
