LA based **Gobbler**, a service that helps musicians backup, organize and transfer large audio and video files, has received **$1.75 million** to expand the service. Investors in [the round](http://blog.gobbler.com/2012/01/gobbler-grabs-1-75-million-to-help-musicians-keep-track-of-their-files/?ref=hypebot.com) include ff Venture Capital, Black Ocean Group, Mindjolt CTO Aber Whitcomb, Facebook VP Dan Rose, ex-Googler Jermey Wenokur, Science’s Mike Jones, and the founder of LowerMyBills Matt Coffin.

  
Gobbler [also raised](http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/17/gobbler-puts-the-fun-back-into-collaborative-media-projects/?ref=hypebot.com) $1.3 million from Dave Goldberg, Sky Dayton and Tim Wyatt in January of last year. . The new funds will be used to expand more aggressively into video and photography.

Operating in a space somewhere between **Dropbox** and **Soundcloud**, [Gobbler](http://www.gobbler.com/?ref=hypebot.com) combines desktop software that tracks files across multiple locations and offers backup via **Amazion Web Services**. Soundcloud users can also publish and manage their tracks and streams directly from Gobbler.
