(UPDATED) Google offered the for major record labels an advance of as much as $100 million to license a more cloud music service than it launched last month as Google Music Beta, according to [Businessweek](http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/11%5F23/b4231035679728%5Fpage%5F2.htm?ref=hypebot.com). The labels reportedly refused unless Google did more to stem piracy. Some question if the labels are not also giving Apple a competitive advantage as they prepare to launch their iCloud Music service, which some say could happen as early as next week.
