9 Nominees Top Weak 2007 Rock ‘n Roll Hall Of Fame List
This year’s 2007 nominees to the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame are Van Halen, R.E.M., the Stooges, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Patti Smith, the Dave Clark Five, the Ronettes, Chic, and Joe Tex. Now the nominees are presented to 500 insider voters who generally induct five to seven each year.
Given this year’s list one has to question if inducting only 2 or 3 worthy acts wouldn’t make more sense.

Who on this list would you consider unworthy? How do you determine?
Siddiq, I hate naming names and being a music snob but acts like the Dave Clark Five, the Ronettes, Chic, and Joe Tex simply did not have the musical or cultural impact of many of the previous inductees.
Geez Bruce, how can you deny the DC5? I’m just a little too young to have felt their full impact, but I remember them as serious contenders with the Beatles for “Who’s more cool?” as played out in 1960’s high schools…
If there’s room for Rod Stewart, Queen and ZZ Top, I can’t argue against any of this years’ inductees.
Didn’t they really run out of “worthy” a while ago? They dragged their feet on the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Patti Smith, the Stooges, and so on. Why don’t they just induct Elvis Costello, Pearl Jam and Nirvana and close up shop for good? What do we get next year? Nena? Katrina and the Wave?
Hey Rob Falk – I think you did too many drugs in the 70s. You mention Patti Smith as someone who should be in and yet have the nerve to lump Queen in with the rest of these hacks. Queen was one of the greatest; Patti Smith may just about been the worst R&Rer ever!! You really need to take a step back and take the needle away from the arm.
The whole induction process is nothing but BS…
Genesis,one of the biggest influences besides Pink Floyd when it comes to Prog-Rock gets snubbed, year-in & year-out.
Rush who has been around for 30+ years now aren’t even mentioned…and they let the likes of Billy Joel, Bob Seger & Jackson Brown in before these 2 bands? Now they demean the value of the whole concept of having a RnR HoF by nominating Van Halen before these 2 VERY worthy bands?
…and these are supposed to 1,000 international experts on music and it’s influences…come on, what a joke!
