John Hall: One Of Our Own Got Elected To Congress Last Week

Those of us to the left of center had a lot to be happy about in last week’s election, but one race in particular bodes well for the new music industry.  Buried among the avalanche of news about upset victories was John Hall’s win in New York’s 19th US Congressional district.

Hall is an accomplished singer/songwriter best known as the founder of Orleans and co-writer of hits like "You’re Still The One" and "Dance With Me".  I had the pleasure of working with Hall over a number of years in the 1990’s and found him to be incredibly bright, thoughtful and caring.  It’s a exciting to think that a little bit of his creativity and integrity has found its way to Washington D.C. and that the industry has a new voice that’s actually lived in our trenches.
