Fan Cruises Take Off

Hitting the open seas with your favorite musical group is becoming extrememly popular. From JamCruise to several smooth jazz cruises and from Dave Mathews to Kenny Chesney this niche marketing ploy is growing into a big business. "Fan club entry, special merchandise and ticket deals, all
these things they do to capture the really hardcore, super-dedicated fan has increased a lot and these cruises are an extension of that," says Ray Waddell of Billboard.

For the Chesney cruise, tickets ranged from $900 to $2,400 depending on accommodations not including costs to and from the Florida port. (more)
