Hypebot’s Music Industry Week In Review

>>> EMI Is For Sale Again :

• The Warner Music Group is making another attempt at buying a struggling EMI Music. 
• As a preemptive move to gain European regulatory approval , WMG made cut an innovative deal with indie trade group IMPALA to guarantee their support of any merger.  Previously IMPALA had fought merger moves by Sony and BMG.
• Several investment firms are also said to be eying a bid for EMI.

>>> Competing satellite broadcasters Sirius and XM have agreed to merge. Regulatory approval could prove tricky.

>>> Apple has settled it’s dispute with Cisco over the iPhone name…they’re sharing it.

>>> The RIAA is going after another 15,000 college students from 25 colleges for illegal file sharing.
