The RIAA Smack Down Of 15,000 College Students
15,000 students from 25 US colleges and university have just received complaints from the RIAA alleging illegal music file sharing The top five offending schools were Ohio, Purdue, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Tennessee and the University of South Carolina.
This totals nearly triple the number for the previous school year. But the RIAA seems convinced the program is working.
"It’s something we feel we have to do," RIAA President Cary Sherman said. "We have to let people know that if they engage in this activity, they are not anonymous."
"They" and all of their friends and classmates also never ever going to buy CD’s from the labels that support such actions.
