EU Blasts iTunes. Broader Review Looms.
EU Commissioner Of Consumer Protection Meglena Kuneva blasted
Apple and iTunes this weeks. ""Do you find it reasonable that a CD will play in all CD
players, but an iTunes song will only play on an iPod?" asked Kuneva.
"It doesn’t to me. Something must change."
It’s all part of a looming effort to standardize consumer protection laws throughout the European Union that could see all EU countries adopt the Scandinavian anti-DRM model and have broader implications for digital music markets worldwide.
