Wall St Punishes Getty For Entry Into Music
Getty Images who just recently entered the music space with the purchases of online licenser Pump Audio ($42 million)
and music site Paper Thin Walls ($850K) has seen its stock drop almost 40% in recent week from the $50 range to $30. (1 month stock chart via AOL Finance)
It seems that investors have figured out that in the digital age the price of entry into these arenas is far less than Getty has been paying. With a proliferation of startups and even D.I.Y. offerings, Getty has tough sailing ahead in all of its core businesses.
