The methodology…

We began with your nominations, looked at traffic numbers and added and subtracted some blogs there, then the final selections were made by a small panel of industry judges.

We originally had intended a category for best fan or band blog, but got the nominations were minimal and scattered.  Perhaps we’ll revisit that category separately at another time.

  5. wow. the koar peeps… uh, fans are busy little commenters. ive been getting that newsletter for a few years now and i like it. i read each one thoroughly, but as far as it containing the best up to the minute music news? hmmm, im not sure about it winning the plug award.

  7. To many people are concerned with up to minute News. Up to minute news is just a headline. I like reading commentary on the news, background information and opinions.
    I read the PRP, Kings of A&R, Lefsetz, and Absolutepunk.

  8. I read Kings of A&R for Music News and Music Discovery, Absolute Punk, and sometimes the Daily Chorus.
    Best Sites include:

  9. Another good music blog is Unreality Music. When it’s on form, it’s really funny.
    I don’t know where I’d be without Idolator, probably one of the best.

  10. I like music focused blogs. Many blogs focus on generic celebrity news mixed with smaller stories.
    Great sites include: Digital Music News, Kings of A&R, Lefsetz, AbsolutePunk, The Daily Chorus, and the PRP.
    With those site, you get the better stories that don’t make it to the mainstream outlets all the time..

  11. Have you guys noticed all the tiny blogs are winning and not just winning. But by ALOT!
    These “awards” seemed rigged.
    Anyone can erase their history and IP address and keep voting, over and over.
    Anyone agree?
