EMI Announces New CEO – Press Release

"EMI is delighted to announce the appointment of Elio Leoni-Sceti as Chief Executive of its recorded music division, EMI Music.Mr Leoni-Sceti joins from Reckitt Benckiser, the FTSE30 consumer brand company, where he has been Executive Vice President, Europe….
His stellar 16 year career with Reckitt Benckiser has seen him lead
some outstanding brand successes and business turnarounds in the
United States and across Europe. Under Elio’s tenure as Global Head of
Category (2001-05), the company strengthened its recognised leadership
in product innovation and global branding, while creating a new
culture of integrated media and communication. In the last two years,
as Head of Europe, Elio accelerated business growth in Europe, and
built a stronger competitive position for its major brands.Guy Hands said:

Mr Leoni-Sceti, 42, was born and educated in Rome and started his career in 1988 as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble before moving to Reckitt Benckiser in 1992 as a category manager. For the last seven years, he has been an Executive Vice President at Reckitt Benckiser and a key player in the growth of the company. From 2001 to 2005, he was Head of Category Development, leading the company’s innovation, product pipeline, global marketing and media and, since 2005, he has been Reckitt Benckiser’s Head of Europe, a £3 billion business which has seen outstanding levels of growth under his leadership. He is married with four children."
