  1. I read hypebot because it gives consistent information in portions that are easy to digest. Too much information floats around on the web, and hypebot manages the perfect balance between brevity and plentiful.
The only thing I could possibly ask for more of, is insights for the diy musician while navigating these complicated waters.
    Thank you Hypebot.

  2. I first came across Hypebot when doing some research on music industry internships. I keep coming back because Hypebot covers all corners of the business, big and small that keep me up-to-date with the fast paced industry.
It’d be great to see more on technology, “band as brand” diversifying and touring affairs.
Thanks Hypebot for giving me my daily dose.

  3. You do a great job of filtering the noise of digital music news and hope that you continue to do this well.
As a D.I.Y. Artist, however, I could give a darn about the Majors’ (R.I.P.) news, so I guess, less R.I.P. news and more D.I.Y. news please.
Keep it up and get more Google Ad-sense listings.
Also post ads on Digital Music News (if he let’s you!) lol.

  4. I love hypebot’s overall coverage. I actually wish there was more info on what kind of things indie and up coming artists are interested in such as other bands they listen to, clothing they like, their overall favorite this or that. I guess this would imply more interviews but not necessarily.

  5. hey bruce, who won your last giveaway – the Qbox/Amazon gift certificate ?

  6. I like the content of hypebot, i have been reading industry news on it for about 8 months now, but i have always found the format to be cumbersome. the links on the right side are just elongated by the ads that are inserted and i dont think its very easy to browse in general. y’all could use a better interface. get at me if you need to, i know plenty of web designers.

  7. Hypebot is a great digest, and often points me to sources that I would never come across on my own. I always want to see more positive news – ie, this is where the music will survive…

  8. I’ve been coming to Hypebot for awhile. It’s got some great knowledgeable content and keeps you up to date with the latest music, sites, and news you wouldn’t hear else where.
The website has a pretty basic design layout, thats pretty simple, but was kind of confusing when I was a new user. I think it could use a bit more pictures and color to attract more attention. Some people simply like to look @ pictures… it’s the human way. 🙂
It’s a site that I’ll look forward watching it expand over the years as it stays firmly positions in my bookmark of favorite sites.

  9. I’m relatively new to the site (only been visiting for the last couple of months) but as a music lover whose only involvement in the “industry” is as a consumer, this site provides a great way to stay well informed and hear what’s happening behind the scenes in a well balanced way that other sites can’t offer.
In most regards Hypebot is doing great, but I think the site’s layout is the biggest problem. As it continues to grow, navigating through the bowels of the site will get even more difficult. Besides that, just work on the aesthetics (maybe get some nice daily pictures or something like that) and keep up the good work!

  10. I read hypebot because as a musician and a music fan, I feel more than any internet website, you guys truly know your stuff the best.
One thing I would change is maybe have more advice for D.I.Y. musicians from people who own an independent record label.

  11. Hypebot is the place to go when I want to win free tickets to great concerts. The articles are ok too.

  12. Honestly I’ve never been to hypebot before, I just found you because I need tickets to the festival (made the apparently wrong decision to wait for my next paycheck). However, I’m enjoying it so far. The only criticism I have is that the gray sidebar is very crowded. I think the top stories, archives, etc. (useful things) could go on the left side of the page. Thanks for the chance to win!

  13. Hypebot is awesome because I like to keep up to date with music and technology! I want to go see The Roots and Bob Dylan! PICK ME!!!

  14. I like the simplicity of the site; it conveys only what it needs to. However, in keeping with the independent spirit of the music that this site tracks, the design of the website could be more original, more interesting. The links on the right could be better separated; perhaps the categories/archives could go on the left instead to make for an easier layout.
Overall, quite a knowledgeable place to go! Not to mention the giveaways– quite generous.

  15. i come to hypebot for the occasional debriefing on industry news. since i’m mostly interested as an avid music listener (i live in pittsburgh, so seeing the raconteurs and bob dylan would be amaaazing :)), i’d like to see some sort of weekly/consistent musical artist recommendation from the site. the website is quite professional…the occasional fun spin on the news or a more memorable logo wouldn’t be too bad either.

  16. My friends and I enjoy your reliable and easy-to-read articles. It actually brings a different viewpoint to what us as consumers generally hear about. They are written fairly impersonally, so I’d like to know more about who writes the articles, etc.
As many people have said, the design could be a lot more user-friendly. You could add tabs to the top for different categories, a separate box for the archives, etc. More colors on the website, maybe a header, would be excellent 🙂

  17. Hypebot is a daily destination for me. I like the easy to follow design (even amidst the changes). I also enjoy the epic, multi-part articles as they always paint a big picture idea, even if I disagree with the conclusions drawn. One thing I would like to see and don’t see enough of on any of the great music related sites out there would be a list of label signings and droppings. With the constant shuffling in the majors and discoveries on the indies and so many turning to self publishing, it would be nice to see a weekly or monthly update of who is going where. Sometimes their myspace/facebook/web 2.0 aren’t always forthcoming 🙂
