ISP Service Would Pay Labels For Illegal Downloads
paidContent:UK is reporting that one of the country’s top ISPs is negotiating the launch an unlimited music service that would see it pay labels for tracks that its customers illegally download via P2P.
Playlouder MSP (music service provider) reportedly will facilitate the service for the unamed broadband operator beginning early in 2009. Co-founder Paul Sanders would not name the ISP, but a source told paidContent:UK that Virgin Media was holding talks with Paylouder. Sony BMG and EMI may already be on board as well. (more)
