Spotify Launches In EU With Majors, Merlin & More
Spotify launched its on-demand streaming music service in Europe yesterday with Universal, Sony BMG, EMI, Warner Music Group, Merlin and The Orchard all on board. Spotify users will have unlimited access to millions of tracks with the opportunity to create and share playlists and explore music through a wide range of discovery and social features.
Spotify starts with the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Norway and Sweden aith more markekets to be added in 2009. The service will offer both monthly subscriptions and free streams and supported by advertising. Advertisers that have signed up to be included from the launch include Ford, T-Mobile and Xbox.
