Map Your Mobile Strategy Now

DailyDIY
One of the most prevalent trends at this week's MidemNet and Midem conferences was the growing importance of mobile music.  Whether we're talking ringtones, Comes With Music or ditching your iPod for an all in one portable phone, web device, music and video player, camera and dishwasher, it's clear that more music discovery and enjoyment is moving to the web.

If the whole world is going mobile, you and your band or label better begin mapping your mFusicobile strategy now or risk being left behind.  You need to figure out how to:

  • sell ringtones. (more here)
  • sell mobile downloads
  • communicate with fans via mobile

The mobile space is evolving rapidly, but the best place to start is by asking fans for their cell phone numbers and permission to occasionally text them. New companies that enable this are popping up daily. Textboom and ClubTexting are both pointed at the music space. Prombity lets you send one text message from your computer to up to 1000 people. Go mobile today or risk getting left behind.
