Type in a band name and see what the latest tweets are saying about you. A new trends tool shows shifts in the hottest topics being discussed on Twitter.  Chris Brown was a recent chart topper.

  1. There are so many social networks these days that maintaining an internet profile can be a full time job. Fortunately most of these networks can sync with the Twitter protocol and with the addition of RSS sync, blogs can be updated with status alerts. Furthermore the PING FM service pretty much fills in the gaps left behind. I have setup a msn messenger account for my artist Kasha (www.kashamusic.co.uk) All he has to do is type a message to Ping FM and 30 websites update with his status.

  2. I am an artist and a musical producer and I use Ping.FM and Hellotxt.com, both very useful.
Also I like how QIK and UStream.tv use my Twitter account every time a stream live video from my webcam or my phone.
Search.Twitter.com and iGoogle are also useful apps: I save my searches into RSS feeds and when somebody talk about our new hit single or our brand I instantly know about that!

  3. I love tweetreplies.com. It e-mails you every time someone (from a public, non-protected account) uses your @username anywhere in a tweet, even if it’s not a direct reply.

  4. I use Twirl to keep Twitter at my fingertips, which is especially cool when someone gives you a shout out – you can reply instantly.
Also, when looking for people to follow, wefollow.com allows users to search tweeters by tag, so you can follow those in your genre.
AND Reverb alloes you to sink accounts so anytime you update ANYTHING on reverbnation, it auto tweets it for you!
