RockDex: How Much Does Your Band Rock?

Rockdex
A number of companies are attempting to tackle the complex job of measuring buzz on the web. Is what you're doing for marketing working? Does MySpace matter more than Facebook? Do people like my song?

Music Arsenal's free RockDex takes a straight forward approach to finding one portion of the answer to the "Is my buzz growing or declining?" question by searching a dozen social networks, blogs, micro-blogs and music sites and then provides a relative score. Of the 800 artists that checked their score since  launched last week at SXSW, the average score of international artists is 68.6, national artists is 41.6 and regional artists is 34.5.

  1. this company is copying Band Metrics exactly… I have a private beta account with Band Metrics and this is exactly what they do, but Band Metrics has better graphs and scores!

  2. Thanks for covering RockDex Bruce! We really appreciate it!
Sam, I don’t think its fair to say RockDex is copying Band Metrics. We’ve never used their service before and have only seen their press releases. This was conceived independently of any other service/sites.

  3. Ive never used Band Metrics, i’m still on the wait list 🙁 I just tried rock dex and based on what i know about band metrics from readhing hypebot, id say its very similar to band metics
