SpiralFrog Hops To New Domain: MyMojo

Mymojo-logoMyMojo, a distributor of free mobile and online media has acquired the SpiralFrog.com domain for an undisclosed sum. Run by the founder of Advertising.com, MyMojo says they will avoid Spiral Frog's unsuccessful efforts to monetize music through ads by harnessing their internet marketing expertise "to ensure that every content transaction is a profitable one".

SpiralFrogFinalLogo.jpg.The company has avoided expensive licensing deals with the majors which could be seen as both a strength and a weakness. In addition to free downloads, Spiral Frog and MyMojo site users can also download wallpapers, videos and ringtones.

What makes MyMojo different than its ad-supported predecessors?  According to the company:

   1. All media can be downloaded directly, without the need to install an application.
   2. Content is fully compatible with a range of media and mobile devices.
   3. Mobile and entertainment related ads, tailored to specific music genres, age groups, and geographic        locations
   4. There is no monthly subscription fee or account maintenance activity required.
   5. MyMojo says it is already profitable

John Ferber, CEO of MyMojo and founder of Advertising.com  said in a statement "For most consumers, the perceived value of being able to download digital content for free in an ad-supported environment is far greater than the cost incurred to purchase individual tracks. Furthermore, in an effort to grow and maintain our userbase, we've removed many of the unnecessary steps, or friction, that the most popular e-tailers use in their media download process."

  1. I just wanted to say that I really like how MyMojo is setup. It’s so simple and doesn’t look cheesy. You can tell they have things going how they want just by looking at the site.
