CD Baby Grows Up With New Design & Features

CD Baby, the indie music child that Derek Sivers skillfully birthed and took into its teens, is now growing up under the guiding hands of new owners Discmakers.  The compeltely revamped site which went live a few days ago offers a much sleeker experience for both artists and fans of indie music.

  1. Very true, very true. Patience is in order, especially since we don’t really have a choice. On the other hand, why did they bother? The old CDBaby was great, why fix something that wasn’t broken?

  2. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, surely has application to this situation.
    Unfortunately, many functions of the CD Baby site now appear to be broken, as a consequence of the “fix”.
    Having been with CD Baby since 2002, we really hope this is not the end of a beautiful friendship.

    A longtime CD Baby employee has posted that the launch happened before things were technically ready. What I am hoping to see is a site rollback. Get something that works online – meanwhile the IT team can test and fix any new system before relaunching it.
