Perez Hilton approaches brand extension with the same zeal that some gals approach hair extentions: keep piling them on long after they start to look unnatural and silly.  So it should come as no surprise that even as he launches his own WMG label, the Queen Of All Media – with a little help from an advertiser, of course – is also sponsoring a concert tour. In typical Perez fashion, facts are scant and details are being leaked in pieces with more scheduled to leak on Thursday exclusively (surprise!) at PerezHilton.com.

  2. Like him or not – and I am in the not column – he does influence many people and the music they pay attention to.
    I also find Perez an interesting case study in the excesses of new media and his place as a “filter” for millions. Usually its because he is a train wreck but every once in a while because he’s pretty smart.
    Besides he’s easy to make fun of…

  3. But isn’t there a fairly large ecosystem of internet critics and self-made celebs who influence at the same level (in numbers) as he does? You’re not covering Ryan Schreiber like you do Mister P.
