As Spotify Envy Grows, A Video To Fuel The Fire

Spotify It's been very frustrating for North American music fans to hear so much about Spotify, but not be able to use it. And with each passing day, Spotify envy only seems to be getting worse.  The rumor says U.S. launch is right around the corner, but  yeaterday a Spotify spokesperson told me, "We're looking to launch in the US either late this year or early 2010, we haven't finalizedSpotify iPhone details yet however".

Fueling the envy fire is a media that almost universally agrees that Spotify is the best thing since iTunes. I've used a press account for almost a year and generally agree. Playback is almost instantaneous and fidelity is solid. The east to use interface feels iTunes-like and you just drop and drag to build playlists. Hear about a new band or remember a favorite and it's probably available in Spotify's several million track catalog.  There are a few annoying gaps for those of us who enjoy the obscure, but they're working on them. Now mobile iPhone and Android apps that let Premium users take Spotify mobile and offline have just been released.

But unless they've been willing to go to unusual lengths using IP masking and other tricks, North American music fans have been forced to look on with envy.  So until Spotify makes it to our shores , here's an official Spotify overview video to show you what you're missing:
