Facebook Becoming More Ethnically Diverse

"How diverse are the ethnic backgrounds of the people using Facebook?" Facebook does not ask users to share their ethnicity or race on their profiles, so in order to try to answer the question, they focused on a single country with a large and diverse population – the U.S. Comparing surnames on Facebook with data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau, Facebook estimated the racial breakdown of users over the history of the site.
