Verizon Cuts Off Customers, Comcast Talks Unlimited Streaming
The country's two top ISP's have two very different approaches to discouraging unauthorized filesharing.
Heeding calls from the RIAA to join their fight against music piracy, Verizon has been sending warning letters to offending ISP customers for several months. This week they admitted to shutting off a limited number of repeat offenders.
The streaming music service would be sold as an add-on feature priced at about $5 per month, available via the web or their cable box. The Post noted that a Danish ISP, TDC, has been providing a similar service that has become popular with their customers.
