Troubled Deezer Names A New CEO

The surprise ouster of Deezer co-founder and CEO Jonathan Benassaya was the talk of Midem.  Why would the #1 music streaming service in France replace its top exec just as it was coming under fire from labels to find a better monetization model as well as looming competition from Spotify?image from www.xwear.frNow in a brief press release, Deezer has announced Axel Dauchez as its new CEO.  He previously ran  European animation group Moonscoop. "Deezer is already a fantastic success, but is still far from having exploited its full potential,"  Dauchez said in a statement. With only 15,000 of its 12 million subsribers paying anything to use the service, that could prove to be quite a challenge
