Online Concerts To Get Social With Big Live

image from www.biglive.com

Schedule to launch in June, Big Live is social networking platform that connects users around a shared entertainment experience. Users can watch  full-length “live” concerts by joining one of multiple simultaneous streams to experience the content with a group. Fans can see who they are watching with, filter the group (friends and non-friends), communicate with them, and connect via social network. If a user doesn’t like a certain group or concert, they can move to a different stage to discover new music and new people

  1. Follow your favorite band on tour. Make song requests on line and have them respond. Sit at home in New York and watch them play live in Moscow -for a small fee of course.
    Sounds cool.

  2. this has been tried by a multitude of companies in years past, and “live” over the web always seems to fail whether because the content is inconsistent, licenses can’t be obtained, venues won’t cooperate or consumers don’t care. what makes this offering different?

  3. 1) The shows are not streamed “Live” which allows for multiple, simultaneous broadcasts 24/7
    2) Big Live has deals in place with many venues
    3) A big difference in Big Live is the real-time social networking that occurs in conjunction with consuming online video.

  4. I’m confused by the word “Live” in quotes. Is it happening in real time or not?
And how are you getting around sync fee & master license agreements? Do you have deals with the labels?
