Video: How Nimbit’s Scott Feldman Got Ian Rogers, ASCAP’s Lavinia Wright & An Attorney To Do His Bidding… And Hypebot’s Bruce Houghton To Embarrass Himself

If I'm going to talk the talk about the value of creative marketing than I have to walk the walk.

So when Nimbit's marketing guru Scott Feldman asked me, along with Ian Rogers of Topspin, attorney Ricky Berger and Lavinia Wright from ASCAP's marketing department (and a few others who chickened out) to help him create a little video fun explaining his typical work day to his bosses, I said yes.

Scott sent us each a script and not knowing how the others would handle their parts, I decided to go for it.  The results are a bit embarrassing. I already knew I couldn't act, but the high notes that my voice hits while being strangled… well that's another story entirely.

  1. Bruce….you do wonders for my self esteem. And while the video has a few guest stars (you included), the folks worthy of praise here are the team at Nimbit. If anything, this video shows that we work hard….and play hard!!

  2. Hollywood reply: “We’re saving it for the Deluxe DVD edition…”
    8th Grader reply: “That’s what she said … ”
Scott’s reply: Well, I’ll either make it to Cannes for MIDEM or for my moviemaking…

  3. Hey Bruce, Lavinia, Ricky, (Larry, Moe, Curly,) Pippy, and Ian – awesome acting!

      Thank you very much

for participating (it amazes me what people will say “yes” to when Scott asks them,)
Just some quick background and context to this video — sometimes people work side-by-side and don’t have insight into other’s personal lives, or a true appreciation for what they do in their job in a typical day.
To help our team at Nimbit work even better together, we started doing these 5 minute segments at each week’s company meeting called “a-day-in-the-life-of …”
Last week, when Dave made a video for his “a-day-in-the-life-of …” (instead of a simple talk, or powerpoint), and Scott took this as “I can raise that bar even higher”.
I’m thinking next week I’ll have to personally present, and bring it back down to earth so this simple exercise of team-building and culture doesn’t turn into week-long projects, with film crews, actors and major budgets.
So, everyone – thanks again for playing along! (and, Ian, if this music thing doesn’t work out for you – there’s always a career in film)
